When the E status happens (Emergency, Embarrassment, Excitement, Exercise), Sympathicus will be stimulated and react automatically to those incidents. These stimulations and reactions form up an active circulation, so that the body system can remain stable. While artists are interacting with each other, they experience similar incidents, too. When it comes to artworks from different cultures and generations, how to react, learn and have a conversation with them becomes one of the essential parts of interaction. The links and relations that come up during the progress enables the exhibition to build up its own Sympathicus system, therefore forms a dynamic balance within the stimulations and conversations. On the other hand, the dynamic relations also reflect on how the artists use different kinds of “relationships” or “way of viewing” as the methods of working. They linger around the visual, other senses, and the concepts. Viewing will produce some relationships just as the building up relationships involves viewing. There is a “crossover” between these two topics, with pairing up artists from each country, we see the new possibilities. Hsieh Mu-Chi uses scenery sketching to present the storyline of Taiwanese art group, pairing with In Hye Kim’s detailed painting to show the interactions in social networks. The making process of Kao Ya-Tin selecting the images from art history and reproducing new images, reflects Sung Ji Yun’s installations about death and commercial systems. Lin Guan-Ming focuses on the difference of ways of seeing; while Jin Young Jun goes on street watching and sketching random people. Huang Wan-Ling discusses about space issue via comparing the different drawing perspective of eastern and western paintings, meanwhile, Han Sol Lee observes how individual floats in huge society. The two-ways crossing interactions between Taiwan and Korea mend up the pieces from each side and present possibility of creating an open free art platform. Crossover is also a way for artists to survive in the world wild environment. |
